Serefiye Sarnıcı – Theodosius Cistern Istanbul : Serefiye Cistern, one of the oldest water structures in Istanbul’s Historic Peninsula with a history of 1,600 years, does not have a construction inscription, but based on its architectural features. It is predicted that it was built during the reign of Theodosius II (408 – 450).

There are 45 sail vaults and 32 columns inside the Şerefiye Cistern, which was built on an area of ​​approximately 24 meters by 40 meters and has a ceiling height of 11 meters. The wall thickness is about 2.5 meters.
